My name is Aaron Joyce, and I founded AJ Painting in 2013, continuing the tradition as a second-generation decorating company. With over a decade of experience, I’ve worked hard to build a business based on professionalism, clarity, and a deep understanding of the painting industry. Every project we undertake is completed with care, expertise, and attention to detail, ensuring our clients get the high-quality finish they deserve.
At AJ Painting, we specialize in residential, commercial, and industrial painting services. From painting the interiors and exteriors of homes to restoring older buildings and handling complex projects in hospitals, schools, and pubs, our commitment to excellence is evident in every brushstroke. We serve clients across Westmeath, Leinster, Athlone, and beyond, with our reach extending to all of Ireland.
I take pride in researching every product and application method extensively before any job. Over the years, I have developed solid professional relationships with major paint suppliers, including Dulux Ireland and Colourtrend Ireland, to ensure we use only the highest quality products. Our team's expert knowledge guarantees that every finish is executed with precision, providing durability and beauty to every surface we work on.
Since 2020, we have collaborated closely with Dulux Ireland, working with Derek Keyes to assist with product knowledge and paint-related challenges. One of our proudest moments was shooting a promotional video for Dulux's Diamond Satinwood, which has garnered over 11k views on YouTube. This project highlights our deep understanding of product application and our commitment to sharing our expertise with a broader audience. Additionally, we had the honor of painting the Dulux Academy in Cork, a project that involved decorative painting with 16 unique colors to showcase the diversity and vibrancy of Dulux’s products.
In 2022, I was honored to be recognized as a finalist in the Screwfix Tradesperson of the Year competition, an experience that was both humbling and empowering. Thousands of tradespeople across Ireland and the UK entered, and I was proud to make it to the final 10. Although I didn’t take home the top prize, the judges mentioned how close the decision was, reinforcing the trust my clients place in me and my company’s work.
AJ Painting is actively involved with City & Guilds, where I serve as a T Level Employer Validation Panel Member. In this role, I work closely with City & Guilds to validate and review assessment materials for T Level qualifications, ensuring they meet current industry standards. This includes evaluating project briefs and assignments, providing constructive feedback, and contributing to the development of assessments that are aligned with the practical needs of the painting and decorating industry.
By participating in these panels, I help shape the future of education in our field, ensuring that students graduate with the relevant skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their careers. This collaboration reflects our dedication to not only maintaining industry standards but also supporting the next generation of skilled professionals.
