Project Overview and Approach

AJ Painting was thrilled to be involved in the complete transformation of Bastion Kitchen in Athlone, where we focused on revitalizing the exterior with a fresh and vibrant look. This exciting project required not only an artistic touch but also meticulous craftsmanship, which we achieved in collaboration with the skilled team at Spectrum Signs. Our objective was to make the colors truly pop, and we accomplished this by applying a high-quality finish with Dulux oil-based gloss on the timber surfaces.

The transformation process involved extensive preparation, highlighting our commitment to detail. We prioritized priming, filling, and caulking, ensuring that each step was executed with precision, especially given the high-traffic nature of the area. Allowing sufficient drying time for all coatings was critical in preventing paint failures, as inadequate preparation is often the culprit behind shopfront issues. Our approach emphasizes that while the application of paint is straightforward, it’s the thorough preparation that guarantees a durable, high-quality finish.

Utilizing top-notch equipment from brands like Festool, Hamilton Decorating Tools, and Two Fussy Blokes, we ensured that every aspect of the project met our high standards. Our collaboration with Pat McDonnell Paints further enabled us to select the best materials for the job. As we look forward to seeing the positive impact of this transformation on Bastion Kitchen, we wish Ann and her team the very best in their new, beautifully revamped space.
